Wireless m-bus pulse counter

Wireless m-bus pulse counter wMBHL-2

Wireless m-bus pulse counter is intended to count pulses from different devices - in most of the cases watermeters. Pulse inputs are designed for so called 'dry' contacts (reed-switch) or open collector output. Our pulse counter has two separate inputs and can count pulses with maximum frequency of 20 Hz. The pulse values are then sent in the air as T1 wireless m-bus telegram. Transmission period is fixed to 1 minute and is calculated due to battery capacity. Device operates on battery and has minimum lifetime of 10+1 years. User can set with our software RF power, pulse constant, initial vlaue for each input and AES-128 encryption key to encrypt the teelgram. Enclosure is for wall-mounting and with IP54 class of protection.

Normal mode of operation

On order to start counting pulses and transmit them in the air pulse counter should be activated. How to do that is described in User manual of this device. Once activated, pulse counter wMBHL-2 starts to monitor its inputs and to transmit current data in the air on pre-defined time. It also includes some manufacturer specific data like status of the battery and some other important stuff.

wMBHL is not intended to store anything else then basic parameters - its serial number, counted pulses, initial value for each input and AES-128 encryption key. Battery can be replaced, although it is soldered to the PCB.

Settings are made with our software, through optical head in the IR spectrum. By default optical interface operates on 4800bps, Even, 8, 1. Counter is usually mounted on a wall or horizontal surface.
